20. 21. Saldor (ex-Tower of the Sun)
Tower Location: Located north of the Central Isle, at Third Waite and just south of Starfall Lake.
Summary: Tightly governed, xenophobic feudal society, who shun contact with non-humans.
Notes: The Saldorians came here some years ago, seeking a base away from a war on their own plane. More recently they have appeared in larger numbers, as, during the close of the Dymwan war, they brought large numbers of their people through the World Window. They state that their stay here is for a “trial period”, it is not known what the purpose of this “trial” is but they are not commonly seen travelling the lands and keep themselves to themselves.
Governed by strict rules they can be xenophobic to varying degrees, some believing that all non-humans should be slaughtered on sight, others that non-humans should be avoided and their cultural influence shunned. There is however a small subversive group with the Saldorian tower who the Valley have had good relations with. These are called the Free Thought Society and they campaign for more liberal government.
At the Time of Reckoning in 11AR the Saldorians gained a second tower.
Colours: Black and Red
Activity Level: Fairly quiet with Saldorians not often seen outside their Tower.
The previous inhabitants of these towers (the Otomi) called their towers the Tower of the Sun and had two towers when we first came to Orin Rakatha. They fought strongly against evil, initially attacking us when we first arrived because Wolfhold was in our Alliance. However constant warring with the Kalid led them to losing first one then their other Tower after which they disappeared on mass from Orin Rakatha to return to their war torn home world.
