Kal & Khortaz
Kal and Khortaz have lived with Mother for longer than they can both remember. Kal's earliest memories are of Mother getting new quarters in the combined White and Neutral camp Tower. At that time Mother only had a handful of other children, one of which was Khortaz. The fact that Kal remembers this and none of the others do is how he knows he his he eldest. Over the years Mother went away often on her travels and equally often she would return with a new brother or sister for Kal, Khortaz and the others.
All Mother's children are foundlings, lost or abandoned, and almost all are of mixed blood. Mother looks after them all, but she is a strict disciplinarian and often berates them for their imperfections. Mother always encourages her children to follow the correct path in life. Story time often features tales of the seductive qualities of evil and the horrible fate that awaits those that fall to its' wiles.
The children perform the day to day chores required to keep the household running, which is just as well as Mother is often absent for fairly long periods without explanation. Mother sometimes receives visitors and house guests from far off Towers and places. Sometimes, if the children are very well behaved they may listen to the tales told by the travelers. It was in this way that Kal and Khortaz met Nimamarthariel's family and heard tales of a fearsome war against evil being waged in distant Thranduil.
Inspired by tales of the hero Sir Onyx amongst others, Kal joined the Order of King Michel and began training as an Acolyte of the Micheline Sect before following the path of a Spirtual Warrior. His brother, Khortaz, followed his brother into the Order, but chose the path of a militant Humacti instead.
Of late, Mother has taken to bringing home older and older foundlings. The most recent addition to her clutch was Ozriel a nearly fully grown Half-Elf, who has found a home in the Crusaders.
