Fleet-foot fast fleeing, blood seeping, wounds gaping,
Stumble stagger-legged, rasp-throated clogged with fear,
Brambles snatch, snag and tether,
All broke apart once all together,
Lost mission scattered, friends blood lies seeping
Never again to touch what's held most dear.
Strength fails, legs totter, thighs shake, glade beckons,
Dew-soaked moss soothes, eyelids flutter, asleep in seconds
Nine years dreams of soothing, given and taken
The Great Song regrows me until I awaken.
