Heroquest Larp/Lrp Larping Biographies
Name : Gruk aka Gruk Infantslayer aka Gruk Tanuslayer.
Race : Human
History.
Where as most people can trace their family back many generations, Gruks family only trace their history back to the time of Vale Hostslayer and the finding of the sword Deepwound. Admittedly Deepwound wasn’t much of a name, but in the hands of Vale Hostslayer its edge was reputedly very keen. The family line seemed to be singular only one male to a generation and each member dedicated to an aspect of the dark sphere. Although Vale Hostslayer was an extremely proficient warrior (hence the title Hostslayer) age will take its toll and Vale’s son Blight Lifetaker slew his father and Deepwound seemed to accept Blight a warrior mage by profession although the edge seemed less keen Deepwound aided Blight in other ways. It was Blight who discovered that the sword had some level of sentience inflicting a terrible curse on any other than him who touched it. The sword would pass to the next generation to Jayde Widowmaker and finally to Gruks father Hate LifeTaker, Fell Knight of Ushaz an anti-paladin in the service of Sir Termigan and one of Lord Blackwolfs personal retinue.
Here the story of Gruks bloodline and Deepwound fails, when the valley passed onto Orin Rakatha few know exactly what happened to Lord BlackWolfs party other than a considerable force attacked them and it was during the many assaults that Hate Lifetaker was to fall in combat. As was fitting he was buried by his fellow knights, unfortunately they did not take his sword to Gruk and the sword was lost.
Gruks Story.
…………… There was a fight going on, hidden on top of the hill Gruk watched the fight and it seemed to be going one way. The figures in blue and white were forcing the black clad warriors back. Suddenly a figure rushed forward and called out ‘Blood For Morgoth’, Gruk was stricken to the core. The warrior charged into the midst of his foes almost recklessly his comrade followed, the flow of battle shifted and it was over. The ferocious black clad warrior turned and looked up the hill, the black armour, the burning eye, the dark path had been chosen.
The honour code, this means different things to different people. To Gruk it meant a given word – a commitment to see a task done. Gruk had chosen to dedicate himself to the aspect of Morgoth, every notable foe slain was done in his name because with dedication came power. Gruk journeyed with groups more powerful than himself seeking information and skills to make him more formidable in combat. Finally Gruk met a group know as The Chosen, a like minded group dedicated to their aspect of the dark sphere – no less honourable then Gruk. Gruk gave his word to aid them in their quest and in return they helped Gruk. The last quest Gruk undertook with The Chosen helped Gruk reach the first stage of his development. The plane of Mentalia was filled with mighty foes and after the final foe was slain The Chosen named him Gruk Tanuslayer, a title of note given on the blood of a mighty foe.
The Chosen continued with their quest; however it was time for Gruk to find his true calling. Baptised in blood he sought out his father’s leader, he was ready and worthy, all that remained was to find the sword and bind with it.
