Dreadlord Araikas, Assistant Guildleader of the Dark Path (Thrice Hero)

It was a dark stormy night during Turning Moon in the year 2 AR, when a solitary figure clad all in black, approached a waystation that Alliance personnel were staying at. This individual could only remember events from about an hour ago with no knowledge of who he was or where he had come from. He called himself Storm.

Storm was accepted by the Kern Valley Alliance and joined the Dark Path Sect within Wolfhold. It was not long before Storm became the leader of a number of like-minded people and began to adventure forth regularly from the Alliance Towers. During this time, Storm and his companions became involved in "the Great Game", very similar to the game of Chess. They were on the Black side and each member of the group was given a permanent symbol from this game to signify their unity. It was not until Storm became a Priest of the Dark Path in the year 3 AR that his history became clear to him, in the form of his brother.

Storm was actually named Araikas of the House Ashkrevon and he was the eldest son of this House. His father was King of a group of people called The Eternal Flame who hailed from the plane of Thanatos, a plane dedicated to the Evil Sphere and the element of Fire. Hence, Storm was in fact High Prince Araikas of the House Ashkrevon, ruling House of the Eternal Flame. Apparently, Araikas had disappeared one dark stormy night a year ago, no one knew how or why. Since that time his people had been searching high and low for him, until his younger brother Prince Thoran found him, accompanied by Priestess Castracia and Wizard Lucien.

Araikas and his companions continued adventuring for the Alliance whilst also continuing to participate in the Great Game. This involved journeying to eight different planes (Thanatos, Shadowglade, Moki Mountains, Axos, Cirius, Dalehoven, Akari Island and the Whoresod Forest), to compete against the White side. During High Sun in the year 4 AR, Araikas returned to his home plane Thanatos to complete some personal business, at the conclusion of this business Araikas dropped all of his titles. From that date forward, a Black King was displayed prominently upon his chest, which he wears to this day. It is rumoured that the plane of Thanatos is now destroyed.

During Harvest Moon in the year 4 AR, Araikas led a group of adventurers against the Dymwan and their Points of Power. For his actions, he was named a Hero of the Kern Valley Alliance. Araikas continued to play the great game and finally completed it during Planting Moon in the year 5 AR. Araikas and his 15 comrades journeyed to a new plane, created from 8 other planes by the Chaos Jester, and fought against the White Side. Araikas and his group emerged triumphant.

Araikas became an Ambassador for Wolfhold and engaged on several missions on behalf of Lord Blackwolf. It was on one of these missions during Turning Moon that Araikas encountered the Host of Gawfus and slew him. That same evening, on Burning Night, Araikas and his group successfully completed the Ritual of Ashes. Upon returning to the Towers, this task was taken on by the Red School of Magic. Later that year, Araikas and some of his companions accompanied the Chosen on some personal business. At the conclusion of this business, the Chosen were gone and Araikas adopted the title "Dreadlord".

Dreadlord Araikas continued to perform various missions on behalf of the Kern Valley Alliance, which included bringing Sir Valmir Sussudra to the Alliance to provide warrior training. During Harvest Moon in the year 8 AR, Dreadlord Araikas and his group were fortunate enough to be in the correct area to assist Lord Dalvain Spellsword in his ascension to power, after the death of Lord Blackwolf. In addition, it was Araikas' group that obtained a cure for the Zelian drug that had afflicted the majority of Wolfhold. For their actions Dreadlord Araikas and his group were again awarded the title of Heroes of the Kern Valley Alliance and Dreadlord Araikas was promoted to become the Assistant Guildleader of the Dark Path.

Since then Dreadlord Araikas has been resolute in his defence of the Kern Valley Alliance and continues to work on behalf of Wolfhold.
